Re: Going to games abroad
I would recommend Dortmund or plan a trip to take in a Stuttgart match in the Spring at the same time as Frulingfest - a beer festival like Munich but on a smaller scale. The festival park is about a 10 minute walk from the stadium so went to the match and then strolled to:

The festival was brilliant with bands, beers and loads of food stalls. I cant think of one bad thing to say about the place. Locals very friendly too.

Flight and accomodation are cheap and Stuttgart is also in the wine region of Germany so you may get lucky with the weather in spring time.

I saw Real Madrid at Bernabeau when beckham, Ronaldo and Figo were all playing for them, surprisingly they lost at home 3 nil to Osasuna.
Can buy tickets off touts on day.
Loads tourists there though, imagine be similar when we play at Stratford.

Saw Tenerife play at home against Murcia in the segunda division a few years ago. Lovely hot day, even for a late kick off and no roof on the stadium so you could still get a tan whilst watching the game.

At the other end of the scale I saw Sparta Prague play in the winter of 2005 and it was one of the coldest days of my entire life. Dirt cheap match tickets and from memory you could buy massive sausages or half a roast chicken from vendors at half time on the concourse to stop people dying from the weather.

I bought 4 tickets to Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla a few years ago for £50 a pop. However, when we arrived at our hotel, we noticed the game had been moved a day earlier for TV - presumably the Sky wankers. I checked my email and correspondence and there was small print saying kick off times subject to change and no refunds.

So be careful

Only been to one game abroad in the Maracana, Flamingo 3-1 Sao Paulo, was a night game 87 Zico scored a great goal. Drums and trumpets got on my tits though.

The last game I went to abroad was in Denmark with Danish Hammer we were wearing West Ham clothing and some of the locals thought we were Hammer scouts :-) we played along with it !
You could drink beer in your seats and Danish bought me one £9 FMOB

Prior to that my last game abroad was 1976 ECWC.
